How Ana Bates came to make cakes

As a mum, I was a little taken aback at the cost of special cakes for my kid's birthdays, so I decided to learn how to make them myself.

 As I started playing around with fondant, a natural talent  was revealed - as well as a huge passion- and I started making cakes and cupcakes at cost for friends and family - always with extremely positive feedback.

Then, after making my son's birthday cake and cupcakes, one of the mums at the party wanted to order a cake from me - at more than just cost. That was the beginning of Ana Bates Cakes.

Today , business is humming along, with loads of happy customers.

I love to create cakes and other treats from scratch. Tell me your ideas and budget, and together we can come up with something perfect for your event.

Once all the decisions are made and you've placed your order, I work to make the perfect treat for you.

For me this is the best part. I love the process of creation and my perfectionism comes from this passion. If I am not happy with it first time, I will do it again and again till I get it just right.

My favourite part of the job is the "wow" face people get when thy see their cakes for the first time.
